A beautiful collection of semi-pashmina shawls with intricate embroidery done entirely by hand.
Pashmina: soft gold fabric
Pashmina is the finest type of cashmere wool that was first used to make textiles in Kashmir. Known as soft gold or the diamond fabric for its super soft texture and expensive prices, pashmina is today one of the most prized fabrics around the world. Pashmina is derived from the undercoat of the cashmere goat, that is found in the high-altitude Himalayas. This fine wool is derived not by shearing the goat, but waiting until it naturally sheds its undercoat. Pashmina is today amongst the most expensive fabrics you can buy in the world – and also the softest and most premium.
In our collection, we have used 100% pure pashmina, along with other high quality wool, to create exquisite semi pashmina shawls. With this gorgeous smoothness and lovely drape, they are sure to turn heads everywhere you wear them.
Hand embroidered shawls
This collection is an ode to the age old art of Kashmiri shawl weaving and embroidering. Each shawl in this collection, therefore, has been enhanced with intricate embroidery done entirely by hand. While some feature embroidery all over, others have gorgeous embroidered borders.
The skilled and famous craftsmen of Kashmir have worked painstakingly to create detailed, elaborate designs in a variety of shades and colours. These patterns feature the traditional chinar leaf motif of Kashmir, floral designs as well as the well-loved paisley. So fine is the embroidery that completing it is a process that can take not days but months!
Therefore, each shawl in this collection, with its premium fabric and hand embroidered designs, is a piece for posterity – something to be passed down from generation to generation.
Handcrafted by Kashmiri craftsmen
Pashmina shawls are a Kashmiri speciality. All the shawls in this collection have been woven and embroidered by hand by skilled craftsmen from ‘heaven on earth’ – the land of Kashmir. Each stitch, each motif was done by hand, thanks to the supremely skill Kashmiri craftsmen who worked on them. These semi pashmina shawls are as different from regular machine-embroidered wool ones as chalk is from cheese, as black is from white. They are premium and exclusive semi pashmina shawls that feature delicate, intricate traditional Kashmiri embroidery.
