Multicolour traditional Gamthi pleated flared skirt with unstitched blouse: a 10-metre-flare lehenga skirt in fine-pleated Lycra silk with traditional Gamthi motifs in horizontal bands of red, green, black, yellow and gold, ornate floral and geometric borders and a black hem, with matching unstitched blouse fabric. What is Gamthi?
Gamthi (from gaam, village) is the rustic Gujarati folk style – bold borders, mirror-and-thread motifs, the look of a Kutch chaniya choli. This version carries the look as a print in traditional bands, so it is light and the least expensive in the range.
